What Do I Need In order to use Culturethèque?
All you require is an internet connection. Culturethèque is expected to perform in all types of environments.
Can I Copy/Save Documents Available on Culturethèque?
Due to licensing restrictions, certain documents on Culturethèque will not be available for download.
Subscriptions
A free subscription plan will keep the user up to date with the latest news on Culturethèque and allow them to leave feedback and comments on contents. A paying subscription plan will enable the user to have full access on the platform content.
Advice on Accessing Content
Most of our content is designed for online streaming which means that all our documents are available to you via your tablet, smartphone, laptop or desktop computer – that's thousands of ebooks, hundreds of films and hundred of audio files.
Streaming books
Once you're logged on, most of our ebooks will have a "Read online" link. When you click on that link, you'll be taken to another page. To read the book, go to the bottom of that page and click on "lire le livre." You can also access the book by clicking on the image of the front cover.
Ebooks in .epub format
A large part of our Contemporary Fiction is in EPUB format.
You'll need Adobe Digital Editions in order to borrow them. Once they've been taken out, the copy is yours for 30 days.
Some of these books are available to read online ("stream") and download. Downloading is the same in both cases.
Adobe Digital Editions is free software, and you can download it here.

Windows, Mac and Linux computers can all read .epubs.
Sony and Samsung ereaders are .epub compatible, as are WHSmith's Aluratek ereaders. Currently, Kindles cannot read .epubs.
Ebooks in .pdf format
Some of our ebooks are in .pdf format, like this one and this one.
Samsung, Sony ereaders, most Kindles and almost all other brands can read .pdfs.
All computers can read .pdfs, the easiest way to do so is to dowload Adobe Acrobat Reader for free.
AudioBooks in .wma format
Our audiobooks section contains links to audio files in WMA format (Windows Media Audio), which means that Windows Media Player will read them.
You'll need to download the playlist file and all the .wma files associated with the playlist.
Then all you have to do is open the playlist with Windows Media Player and add the activation code given.
You cannot read WMAs on iTunes.
