Aim: Talking about sports and sports clubs
Level: A1 (year 8)
Lesson length: 30 minutes
Grammar: Work on verbs with prepositions: jouer à / faire de (before sports)
Starter: Show on display or print page 210. Ask students if they are members of a sports club, if they play sports, what their favourite sport is, if they support a team, if they watch sports on TV, discuss the Olympics.
Global comprehension: Read the small presentation of the 5 sports clubs and their details in italics (do not read the full description). Understand small pieces of text with practical information (day, time, sports)
Detailed comprehension: Raise awareness about the structure of verbs jouer à and faire de
Written work: Exercise 5 to do in class or to be set as homework
