Michel Berger was a French pop sensation- he represeted what la chanson française was really about. Alongside the success with his own music, he was also a songwriter for the some of the greatest singers such as France Gall, Françoise Hardy and Johnny Hallyday.
Berger's first appearance in the public eye was in the 1960s with Salut les copains which opened the doors fame. He passed the baton of fame to Françoise Hardy when he re-launched her career with Message personnel, Je suis moi.
Berger also composed a successful musical Starmania (1978), with lyrics by Luc Plamondon. Berger hand-picked his cast of France Gall, Claude Dubois, Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne, Nanette Workman, Eric Estève and Fabienne Thibeault.

In 1972, Berger released an eponymous album to his name, Ecoute la Musique
