Mood Indigo - not the full magic of Vian?

It was September 17th. A nondescript Wednesday in South Kensington. I had been to the reading group a few months beforehand about Boris Vian's tale of love and nemesis, 'L'Ecume des Jours', which describes romance in the only way possible- a dream- like condition; and there is the sad degeneration, as reality- poverty, death- pours itself grimly over the sweet rose of passion.
