Internationally acclaimed artists Daniel Buren and Anish Kapoor discuss their participation in Monumenta with art journalist and broadcaster Alastair Sooke. Unparalleled in its scale and ambition, Monumenta annually invites a renowned contemporary artist to create a work specifically for the Grand Palais in Paris. An initiative of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, this concept has proven hugely popular. Following Anselm Kiefer in 2007, Richard Serra in 2008, Christian Boltanski in 2010, Anish Kapoor took up the challenge in 2011 to critical acclaim and Daniel Buren's ambitious new project Excentrique(s), his latest in situ work will be unveiled on 10 May and on view until 21 June 2012.
